چکیده

To mitigate potential damage to RC structures subjected impact load—especially spalling damage—engineered cementitious composite (ECC) is applied, with the aim of reinforcing members, so as improve their performance. In present study, response beams, and without ECC reinforcement, loading was investigated. Firstly, mechanical properties were characterized by quasi-static compression tension tests, well dynamic direct tests. Then, K&C model (Karagozian Case Concrete Model) employed delineate behavior, whose parameters calibrated using test data. Subsequently, models beams validated drop weight test, established investigate response. The numerical results suggested that performance resistance ECC-reinforced significantly improved. degree members effectively reduced, deformation controlled, energy consumption capacity increased while load transferred increased. particular, method multiple separate layers proposed in this found reduce extent, dissipation, control within certain levels. addition, prevented crack propagation caused cracking member, ensured residual integrity further improved member comprehensively.

Monotonic and fatigue performance in bending of fiber-reinforced engineered cementitious composite in overlay system

This paper presents an experimental study and theoretical analyses on the monotonic and fatigue performance in bending of a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber-reinforced engineered cementitious composite (ECC) overlay system. The influence of the interfacial characteristics between overlay and old concrete substrate on the overall bending performance is investigated. The experimental results show th...

Simulation of Masonry Beams Retrofitted with Engineered Cementitious Composites

A thin layer of ductile fiber-reinforced mortar material referred to as Engineered Cementitious Composites, or ECC has been experimentally investigated as a seismic retrofit for unreinforced masonry infill walls in non-ductile reinforced concrete frames. Compression tests of masonry prisms retrofitted with 13mm of ECC were conducted representing the compression strut of a masonry infill under i...

Design of Engineered Cementitious Composite Suitable for Wet - Mixture Shotcreting

An engineered cementitious composite (ECC) suitable for wet-mixture shotcreting (sprayable ECC) in the fresh state, while maintaining tensile strain-hardening behavior in the hardened state, has been developed by employing a parallel control of micro-mechanics-and rheology-based design. In the development concept of sprayable ECC, micromechanics is adopted to properly select the matrix, fiber, ...

Microstructure variability and macroscopic composite properties of high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites

High performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites have made major advances in recent years, to the point where they are being adopted in building and bridge constructions. The most significant advantage of HPFRCC over conventional concrete is their high tensile ductility. However, the tensile strain capacity has been observed to vary, most likely as a result of the variability of the mi...
